Agroecology, together with family farming, aims to transform agri-food systems addressing the root causes of problems and providing holistic and long-term solutions based on knowledge co-creation, sharing and innovation, including combining local, traditional, indigenous and practical knowledge with multidisciplinary science.

People-centered, knowledge-intensive and rooted in sustainability, agroecology fits the transformative approach required by the 2030 Agenda to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals [1]. In this context, the Sembrando Capacities project presents the results in terms of policies and experiences of agroecology.

Mapping

The mapping of agroecological initiatives and processes in Colombia aimed to identify initiatives and self-recognized and collective agroecological processes that are developed in Colombia, which allow to contribute to the construction of evidence on the state of the art of agroecology in the country and its understanding. Likewise, it intends to make visible the multiple experiences and initiatives of agroecology that exist in the country despite not having specific and pertinent programs or policies for their development.
